Vision
A place first, a game second, a token third. In that order, and the order is the whole point.
The thing we are building#
A city under a city, with enough going on in it that people log in when they have nothing in particular to do.
That is the actual target. Not retention numbers, not a chart — a room with people in it, arguing about which floor is worth the walk. Everything on the roadmap is judged against whether it makes that room busier.
Three commitments#
Depth is earned, never bought. Every system that decides how far down you can get — tanks, lamps, provisions — is made, not purchased. You can buy cosmetics, company and market goods. You cannot buy a floor.
The grind does not pay out. Tallow and $GLOAM never convert. Playing does not mint tokens. That closes the door on bots, on farms, and on the moment a game stops being fun because it became someone's income.
We say what is not built. Every page in these docs marks its own status. Where a system is designed but not shipped, the page says so at the top rather than describing it in present tense.
What we are not building#
- Not a token with a game attached. The prototype was playable before the token existed and stays playable without a wallet.
- Not an NFT project. There are no NFTs, there is no mint, and nothing in the game is an NFT.
- Not a P2E economy. See the second commitment.
- Not a roadmap of dates we cannot keep. Phases below are ordered, not scheduled. Where a date is real, it is written down. Where it is not, it is not.
How we decide what to build#
By what people complain about. The systems that get rebuilt are the ones enough delvers point at, in public, in the same week.
This page is a promise you can hold us to
If the game ever ships something that lets you buy depth, or converts Tallow to tokens, then this page was a lie and you should treat everything else here accordingly.
