The Wick Market
Three hundred years after the city above bricked it over, the candle-makers' street is still the place you go to sell things.
Not in the build yet
The Wick Market is designed and specified but not implemented, in the prototype or anywhere else. This page describes what is being built, in future tense where it matters. Nothing here is live. Target: Phase 2 — see the roadmap.
Status: In development
What it will be#
A player-to-player market on B3, in the shopfronts of the old chandlers' quarter. Every stall is somebody's salvage. There is no NPC vendor undercutting the floor and no shop inventory — if it is for sale, a delver put it there.
- Listings priced in $GLOAM
- A live order book per item, with the floor visible before you commit
- A flat fee on every completed sale
What can be traded#
| Tradeable | Not tradeable |
|---|---|
| Salvage materials | Tallow |
| Cosmetic kits | Lamps and tanks |
| Company below Relic | Contracts and contract rewards |
| Provisions | Your name |
| Relics, once identified | Anything bound at pickup |
Lamps are deliberately absent. If depth could be bought, the whole clock stops meaning anything — so the things that determine how far down you get come out of Fabrication only.
The fee#
Every sale pays a flat market fee in $GLOAM. That fee is split 50/50: half burned, half to the treasury. It is the same split as every other in-game spend — see Burn & Reward System.

Why it needs a fee at all#
A market with no friction turns into a wash-trading machine within a week. The fee is small enough to ignore on a real trade and expensive enough to make laundering volume pointless.
No brokers, ever
Nobody from GLOAM will hold your items, escrow a deal, or broker a trade. Every trade happens in the market, in the game. Anyone offering otherwise is stealing from you.
